Overview
Dive Urge is a PADI 5-Star Gold Palm Resort. Dive Urge was created by Lynne and Helal in 2000 to provide unique bespoke dive holidays in Red Sea (Dahab). It is a family business and a joining of English and Egyptian culture. Dive Urge’s main feedback always refers to the friendliness of their club and that combined with a professional attitude to diving has won them much praise and return business. (About 70% of guests return every year.)
Dive Urge is a deliberately small and intimate resort based at Eel Garden in Dahab, a short walk into the main village, but far away enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. They have created an Oasis at Dive Urge that allows you to really achieve peace and feel ‘at home’. Dive Urge is both a dive center and a small hotel offering currently 12 places within the club and 14 places close to the club in house type accommodations. They have an on site beach restaurant called ‘Food Urge’ that only offers freshly prepared meals with a flavor that has to be tried to be believed. The pancakes for breakfast are legendry, home made flat bread wraps for lunch and either a fresh seafood platter for dinner, or try the Egyptian Night to give you some examples.
This atmosphere suits all types of guests from young to old, from professional to students, all seeking the same thing; a home from home with diving!
Dive Urge’s philosophy is simply that they want to provide the best dive holiday that they can. To this end, groups are kept deliberately small with a maximum of four divers to one PADI Instructor (which means you can see more, it is safer, and has less impact on the aquatic world). Dive Urge also works on divers’ skills to improve their buoyancy, thus keeping them safely from touching the precious coral or the sandy bottom, as well as enhancing their confidence and enjoyment.
Dive Urge prides themselves on offering the best dive courses possible. It is a point of pride to them that divers leave the club confident and happy with their skills, air consumption etc. All courses are on offer from learning upwards; PADI Open Water, Advanced, Adventure dives, Specialities, Rescue and Dive Master.
Dive Urge likes all guests to experience some of the culture here and to that end they organize evenings in the mountains with a Bedouin-style dinner. Camel safari trips to remote national parks to dive and enjoy the day. Boat trips are also available on request to visit some remote sites south of Dahab.
In a nutshell, Dive Urge is not here to make a fast buck - they are here for the duration and having built a family locally are looking to pass on the responsibility of caring for the environment, as best they can, to their children: Nadia (who is now a PADI Junior Open Water Diver) Hebba 4, and Sameh nearly 2.
Dive Urge hopes you come and enjoy what they have to offer - they look forward to welcoming you.
